What is the experience of playing these games like?

My first experience of playing these games was interesting to say the least. Firstly, I struggled to understand the controls because there was no menu of way of explaining them to me when I open the game. Secondly, when I began to play the games, I struggled to play due to the sensitivity. There was not really a way of simply changing the controls to fit my needs easier. However, once I understood the controls slightly better, I found the game quite addictive, as I wanted to do better than my previous score.

How do they compare to the kinds of video games you are used to playing now?

I personally think that the games today are much better than the games I just played. I think this might be due to the fact that I have grown up with better quality games and easier to understand. In comparison I think that the games haven't changed much in the perspective that people are still playing them a lot and quite a lot of people find games addictive. However, with the technology compared to back then, things are going to look better and be more understandable, but I can see how people around then, when the games came out, found the game fun to play.

My Game Device History

As you can see in the timeline above, I have had a wide variety of consoles which enabled me to play games on. I believe that I have been lucky in the eyes of some to be able to play on such a variety on consoles. Alternatively, looking at the timeline, I don't really have a favourite brand to play games on. I have had two different Playstation's, two different Xbox 360's, two different Nintendo devices, a laptop and PC. On the other-hand you could say a phone is my most popular device as I have had three phones to play games on. However, I wouldn't say that is my most popular device.

The Last of Us

The storyline was very immersive as a spectator and as a player. However, some parts were quite boring and the cut scenes dragged on for a while and did get a bit boring. The parts where nothing really happened and you are just walking around were the most boring parts. On the other hand the only parts which were fun was when you got to shoot people. The music in the background really makes you involved with the game. It makes you think that something is going to happen when it might not. Also, the fact of having cut scenes makes you keep on edge whilst playing the game as you don't know when you are going to have to take control and take part in action. This doesn't really have the same effect it does with the spectators as you don't really notice the difference as one.
